How to Make the Most of your Psychic Reading – pt. 1

Different Types of ‘Psychics’

All who claim to be ‘psychic’ are not so. Some use cold-reading and other forms of manipulation to impress the client into trusting them. They influence the client to share their story, then the ‘psychic’ repeats it back, yet in a cleverly constructed manner, so as to give the appearance of ‘knowing this stuff beforehand’. These people are great listeners and creative communicators. Yet their intent is manipulative and negative.  Some people are Empaths – they can feel what another is feeling. Therefore, asking them about specific people can be great; trusting an Empath’s reading regarding outcomes of events may not be so great. They connect to personal energy and may not be able to use that connection to ‘see, feel, hear or know’ what the future entails.  And then there are Mediums. These are those who can connect to those who have transitioned. Yet just because one is a Medium, doesn’t mean they can give you an effective psychic reading as they may have only the strength of mediumship. Just as in the case of the Empath, their strength may lay only in one area, in this case, communicating with those who have passed. And then there are those psychics who are Empathic Mediums as well as possess the gifts of clairvoyance (ability to see), clairaudience (ability to hear), clairsentience (ability to feel with impressions or ‘hunches’) and claircognizance (having the ability to ‘just know’).  These gifted people, whether they use tools or not, are those psychics that are ‘all-inclusive’, and able to provide detailed, accurate readings on a variety of topics.

Varying Degrees of Ability

All psychics are not created equal. Some may have all of the ‘clairs’ while some may have one or two of the ‘clairs’. Additionally, the level of intensity in any or all of the ‘clairs’ can vary as well. Some psychics use tools to conduct readings. Usually, an Empath will need no tools as they simply connect to the energy of the person in question; however, as with some Mediums, they may require or request a photo, a birth date, an article of clothing, or some other ‘representation’ of the person whose energy they are to connect with in order to conduct the reading. Some who possess any or all of the ‘clairs’ – clairvoyance, clairaudience, clairsentience or claircognizance – may also ask for some sort of representation of the person in question; additionally, they may use tarot cards, runes, pendulums, playing cards, rocks, die or healing stones to aid in their readings. For some, using the tools aid in the intensity of their intuitive ability; for others, the tools are a crutch to focusing solely on their intuition, thus enabling them to be more in control of the personal energy exerted during the reading. And then there are those who don’t use tools or request much, if any, information to do a reading. These gifted psychics are relying solely on their own energy to provide the client with the strongest reading possible.

Psychics are capable of relaying such specific information as names, initials, physical descriptions and ages of individuals arising in the readings. Some psychics do better with giving readings on specific areas, i.e., a love psychic, a medical intuitive, etc.; while others give readings on any area of life.

Because all psychics are not created equal, it is wise to not compare psychics with one another. If you find one that you cannot connect with, move on to another. However, if you are serious about the help a psychic reading can provide, make sure you do some background work on your chosen psychic.
