Self-Imposed Limitations (For Your Own Survival)
We want to think, feel and believe that we can go far beyond that which we think, feel and believe. We want to act as if we have much more power in this life than we really have. We put ourselves in positions to become exhausted and overwhelmed in the name of ‘ability’. We stretch ourselves, feeling as if there’s a little more, and a little more, and a little more…then we SNAP! We break into pieces of anxiety, hopelessness, confusion, despair and misery. Sometimes we have the greatest of intentions; yet those intentions aren’t accompanied by tons and tons of extra ‘ability’.
Spirits, perhaps we must take the time to listen to our Inner Voice when it tells us that we are ‘doing too much’. Then perhaps we wouldn’t need the body aches and pains to be ‘the voice of reason’ notifying us that we’ve had enough…that we’ve reached our limit. Out of obligation, kindheartedness or compassion, we stretch ourselves physically, emotionally, mentally and financially. And while it is good karma to be of assistance, it is also good karma to be mindful of Self and its needs. We can’t care more for others than we do for our Selves for a weakened person offers strength to no one. Continue being kindhearted and supportive in your gestures to others; yet also become kindhearted and supportive in your gestures towards your Self.
~Namaste~
